I have wanted to write this post for a long time now. It is all about the famous Midnight Recovery Concentrate, Kiehl’s most famous product and the one that has never stopped being a “top seller” since it was launched in 2010.
Its list of ingredients is 99% natural, and within it the botanical oils such as squalene, evening primrose, jojoba and coriander oil stand out (they provide the skin with lipids similar to the oils it produces), oil of rosehip to soothe, omega 3,6 and 9 to provide fatty acids that strengthen the skin barrier. The “controversial” part of the list comes from the hand of some essential oils it contains, such as lavender, rosemary, geranium and rose, which have been included because, according to the brand, it reinforces the effectiveness of the formula and fights the damage of environmental factors. It also includes vitamin E.
I must admit that I was a bit reluctant to try it at first because of the possible irritating effects of lavender and coriander oil. However, one day my curiosity – and a couple of samples that they gave me in the store – twisted my arm, and the truth is that I am glad I tried it.
Its aroma hits you right away. A large part of its composition comes from plants, since it is markedly herbal. Its texture, of course, is oily (although not dense), and quite pleasant: I would say that it generates a sensation similar to “warm” and soothe the skin.
The brand recommends applying it at night, since it is the “peak moment” of cell repair and of course I do so, with clean skin and immediately afterwards the cream (you know that applying oils as a serum has some particularities ). If I feel very reactive, I first apply a calming serum, then the oil and lastly the moisturizer.
The next morning I notice my skin brighter and better looking, although I would say that its main achievement is that it helps me keep dehydration at bay and that is why I always have a bottle with me. If you have healthy skin, without signs of dryness or are very young, it may leave you indifferent, but servidora has an age and the effect of products like this is already noticeable.
It is, without a doubt, a product for dry and dehydrated skin , although if you have combination-oily skin, I recommend you try it after a more watery serum (for this type of skin, it is very good to apply water before an oil and this later to “seal” and prevent moisture loss). Fortunately, the brand has a good sample policy, so it won’t cost you to get one to see how it works on your skin before jumping in to try it.
You can find it in boutiques , stands of the brand or in its online store (also from today and throughout the weekend at a great price thanks to the “Skin Summer Party”).
Has anyone in the room tried it? What do you think of Kiehl’s most famous product?
